Big Sandy ISD Superintendent Eric Carpenter has alerted parents in the district that a staff member has a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19, according to a message sent in the district’s smartphone app.
The staff member was on campus Thursday, Sept. 10.
The alert directed parents and community members to the district’s website for more information.
At http://www.bigsandyisd.net, documents explaining the district’s prevention, mitigation and response procedures can be downloaded.
That policy states that all staff members are screened daily and all adults in school buildings will wear masks.
Further, all areas of the campus that were used by the person now confirmed to have COVID-19 will closed off until thoroughly disinfected.
